Portland, OR (August 7, 2026) Abel Motorsports makes their annual trip to the Pacific Northwest and the Portland International Raceway for round 14 of the 2026 INDY NXT by Firestone championship.
Returning to the site of his 2025 USF Pro 2000 championship, Max Garcia is looking forward to getting back to a track with such important memories and milestones for him and his family.
“I’ve always loved racing here at Portland, I have some very fond memories of this place from racing here in the lower series. Can’t wait to continue to build on the momentum have been collecting the last few weekends,” said Max Garcia.
For veteran Colin Kaminsky the opportunity to utilize the new partnership with Abel Motorsports and SimCraft allowed him to shake off some rust around the Portland International Raceway and be better prepared heading into the race weekend.
“I’m excited to be racing in Portland this weekend. I have not raced here since 2019, so it will be fun to get back into the swing of it. The team and I had a great day using the SimCraft simulator at the shop so we are feeling prepared for the weekend,” said Colin Kaminsky.
Fill in driver in the No. 48, Jacob Abel, is looking forward to returning to the site of his last INDY NXT win, and to help continue to push the team forward.
“It’s definitely not the circumstances I would have hoped for, but looking forward to jumping back in an INDY NXT car at Portland and seeing what we can do. I’m really going to focus on helping with setup and different areas with the car to just continue to feed the team data and help our collective effort,” said Jacob Abel.
Myles Rowe remembers how close he came to the top step of the podium in 2025, and he and engineer Kent Boyer have really worked hard on a setup they think could give them the extra bit of needed speed.
“Portland is always such an enjoyable trip, from the atmosphere around the city to the track itself. We had great pace last year and were able to grab a podium, but Kent and I really worked on a setup that I think will pay dividends,” said Myles Rowe.
The INDY NXT Grand Prix of Portland kicks off on Friday August 7th with practice 1 live on Fox Sports 2. The green flag flies for 35 laps of INDY NXT action on Sunday August 9th with coverage being shown live on Fox Sports 1.
