Double-Header Weekend for Abel Motorsports at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course

Lexington, OH (July 3, 2026) – The fourth of five double-header events on the 2026 INDY NXT by Firestone schedule is here, this time at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington Ohio. The weather will be an added variable for everyone with the Ohio weather predicted to be in the mid 90’s throughout the weekend.

The INDY NXT series made a stop to Mid-Ohio back in April, and during that test rookie Max Garcia feels that he and his team made a lot of changes that bettered his number 12 car.

“Always love coming to Mid-Ohio, it’s a great track and being here for the Fourth of July is always a blast. I’m looking forward to what we will be able to do this weekend, we had a strong car here in the test and made some key changes that I think should make us even faster this weekend,” said Max Garcia.

As the championship really starts to heat up after 10 races, veteran Myles Rowe knows that each opportunity to score points becomes increasingly important as the races continue on.

“I’m excited for another opportunity to score points this weekend at Mid-Ohio, and with this weekend being a double-header, the motivation is more because of all the points on the table. I’m also really looking forward to celebrating the Fourth of July at the track, and surrounded by my Abel Motorsports guys,” said Myles Rowe.

Jordan Missig had a strong run at the 13-turn circuit last year, and after setting the 6th fastest lap in testing Missig is excited for what this weekend could hold.

“Mid-Ohio is such a classic track, and it’s always fun to get to celebrate with the whole team on the Fourth of July. We had a really strong number 48 here during testing, and last year in the race so really hoping to capitalize on the double-header and work our way up the points,” exclaimed Missig.

It’s been a few years since the last outing at Mid-Ohio for Colin Kaminsky, but the Homer Glen, IL native is excited to get on track after finishing fourth in the series test back in April. Kaminsky has also tasted success here after scoring a pair of podium finishes in USF 2000 back in 2019.

“I’ve always loved Mid-Ohio, and I’ve had some good results at this track before so just looking forward to another weekend in the Slick Locks Abel Motorsports machine. We had a really productive test here earlier this year, and even showed some pace with fourth on the board but we are just going to keep working on the car getting everything dialed in,” said Kaminsky.

The double-header over the Fourth of July Holiday Weekend gets underway with practice on Friday July 3rd with coverage being shown live on FOX Sports 2 at 2:00pm ET. Saturday brings qualifying and the first race of the weekend with race coverage being shown live on FOX Sports 1 at 1:00pm ET. The final race of the weekend will be shown live on FOX Sports 1 with coverage beginning at 10:00am ET.
