Myles Rowe Scores Podium Finish in INDY NXT Detroit Grand Prix

–         Myles Rowe scores second place finish and secures Jostens’ biggest mover of the race award at the INDY NXT Detroit Grand Prix

Indianapolis, Ind. (June 3, 2026) – An exciting month of May was capped off on Sunday during the INDY NXT Detroit Grand Prix, where 25-year-old Myles Rowe scored a podium finish during the 42-lap battle through the Downtown Detroit streets.

2026 hasn’t been an easy season for Rowe, whose best finish of the season heading into Detroit was a fifth-place finish in race one at Barber Motorsports Park back in March. For Rowe being back on the podium is a huge momentum boost as he enters the meat of the season.

“I’m very pleased with the momentum gained in Detroit, and very happy also just coming back from qualifying outside the top ten to be able to land on the podium and accomplish the objective of the weekend,” said Rowe.

“I’m looking forward to carrying that momentum to World Wide Technology Raceway naturally, which is another strong track for us as a group.”

A learning season through and through for INDY NXT rookie Max Garica, Sunday in Detroit was a culmination of all the hard work that the 17-year-old has been putting in with his No. 12 crew.

“I had an amazing first experience in Detroit, it absolutely lived up to the street fight everyone said it would be,” said Max Garcia.

“I’m really proud of our result and it feels great to be back towards the top of the charts now we just need to keep pushing for more.”

Also scoring his best finish to date in the 2026 season, Colin Kaminsky is pleased with his weekend but still looking for more out of his Dallara IL-15.

“It was the best finish of the season for myself, but I had a sense of disappointment after the Detroit Grand Prix. We executed about 95% to the best of our ability in the race to come home with P10, up from P18, but there was a lot of pace left in our car,” exclaimed Kaminsky.

“The car had pace throughout the weekend, but we know we should have had more. The good news is we had a lot of pace in the car and are finally starting to get rolling and become competitive.”

An opening lap mele made for a long day for Jordan Missig who in an attempt to avoid being collected in the incident went high and got stuck in a parking lot of cars trying to get around the damaged cars.

“Detroit didn’t go quite as we were hoping. We just didn’t seem to have the pace we wanted in qualifying and getting caught out by the red flag didn’t help us at all. We had a good racecar but the incident on the opening lap had us lose a few spots as I got stuck amongst a bunch of cars all trying to avoid the wreck,” said Jordan Missig.

“The race was just all about survival and keeping our car clean and we did that for the most part until the last restart I got caught out and got shuffled back about five positions. We have a quick turnaround before heading to our first oval of the season, so we will continue to keep our heads down and just keep pushing forward.”

The 2026 INDY NXT by Firestone season rolls on to round eight and the first oval event of the season at the World Wide Technology Raceway in Madison Illinois on June seventh with coverage being shown live on FOX Sports 1 beginning at 5:30pm ET.
