– Myles Rowe paced the test at World Wide Technology Raceway in April lapping with a best time of 27.6691
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Madison, IL (June 6, 2026) – After getting back to podium form on the Downtown Detroit streets, Abel Motorsports now sets their sights on the first oval of the season at World Wide Technology Raceway (WWTR). During previous testing at WWTR in April, Abel Motorsports and Myles Rowe set the pace ending both test sessions P1 on the timing charts.
Scoring his first INDY NXT by Firestone win on an oval last year, Myles Rowe is excited to get to St. Louis and show the strength of the 99 machine.
“I’ve really been looking forward to World Wide Technology Raceway, especially after how we raced here last year and our test back in April. The 99 car definitely has the speed in it to contend for the win,” said Myles Rowe.
“It took us a little bit to get our in-season rhythm going but our podium in Detroit was a good rebound and gave our group a little lift heading to WWTR. We are going to keep working like we always do and push for the top step of the podium in St. Louis.”
Returning to the site of his first INDY NXT oval outing, Colin Kaminsky feels ready for a change of pace this weekend with the first oval race of 2026. Kaminsky tested well at WWTR back in April, winding up third in the morning session and eighth in the afternoon session.
“There’s nothing better than back-to-back race weekends. St. Louis is just a few days removed from the Detroit Grand Prix and now we get to continue building momentum in the No. 57 Abel Motorsports Slick Locks machine,” said Colin Kaminsky.
“We had real pace in the test, and a car that I felt comfortable with in traffic which is hugely important on the ovals, so now it’s time to utilize that and get the job done this weekend.”
17-year-old Florida based driver, Max Garcia, is extremely excited to head to St. Louis and experience his first taste of INDY NXT by Firestone oval racing. During the series test, Garcia managed to complete 127 laps or just over 158 miles.
“World Wide Technology Raceway was such a cool track to drive the INDY NXT car on, each corner has such a different feel to it,” said Max Garcia.
“Detroit really gave me some confidence, and rolling right into St. Louis will be great to just keep it rolling. We have been working so hard on the No. 12 car, so excited to see what we can do on the oval.”
Disappointed with his result in Detroit, Jordan Missig is glad to have the quick turnaround and another shot at a podium.
“I’m really looking forward to World Wide Technology Raceway and getting back on an oval. INDY NXT oval racing is always exciting and always so action packed, I can’t wait to get out there and mix it up with everyone,” said Joliet Illinois Jordan Missig.
“As a team we always have really strong oval cars, and we expect nothing different this weekend so it’s going to come down to my engineer and I coming up with the best run plan and just executing in every session this weekend.”
The INDY NXT by Firestone at World Wide Technology Raceway weekend gets underway on Friday June 6th with practice and qualifying both being shown live on FOX Sports 2. Sunday evening has 75-laps of INDY NXT oval racing on tap with coverage beginning live on FOX Sports 1 at 5:30pm ET.
