Second Half of INDY NXT Season Underway for ABEL Motorsports

–         Myles Rowe earns Jostens Hard Charger award for his performance going from 13th to 10th at Mid-Ohio

–         Jordan Missig scores second top 10 finish of 2025 season

Speedway, Ind. (July 8, 2025) – The second half of the INDY NXT by Firestone championship is officially underway as the series took to the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course over the July Fourth weekend.

A big fan of the Mansfield Ohio circuit, Kiwi Callum Hedge was pleased with the speed out his No. 17, but felt that the higher temperatures over the weekend hampered his ability to get that extra few tenths out of his setup.

“We had a solid weekend at Mid-Ohio overall, the 17 machine definitely had some pace,” said Hedge.

“When practice started on Friday, we knew right away that we were in the window we needed to be, so we focused on just fine tuning our setup. As the temperature continued to rise over the weekend it caused us to just miss the setup a little bit in qualifying but we’re building momentum and ready to keep challenging for the podium,” explained Callum Hedge.

Jordan Missig had to work diligently with his number 48 crew to get the car into an optimal window, and when that window was found Missig was able to show what he and his car were capable of.

“A seventh-place finish at Mid-Ohio from where we started the weekend down in 18th after practice one, seems like a win of a weekend for us,” exclaimed the Joliet Illinois native.

“We knew the car was in a good window after practice, but we just needed to put everything together in practice two and qualifying. We had strong race pace, but this track provides only a few areas to make a pass so we managed what we could. Big thanks to the ABEL Motorsports guys for giving me a great car and making Mid-Ohio a successful weekend,” said Missig.

Earning the Jostens Hard Charger Award for his performance driving from 13th on the grid to 10th with some daring passes, Myles Rowe still walked away with a smile on his face.

“I had a lot of fun at Mid-Ohio, it’s one of my favorite tracks so I am always happy when I get the chance to drive there,” said Rowe.

“We learned a lot as a team, but unfortunately some things just didn’t go our way throughout the sessions leading into the race. A lot of those things were out of our control, but they all came together to affect our qualifying effort. I’m still happy with a top ten and were just going to continue fighting for a spot in the top three of the championship,” exclaimed Rowe.

Jack William Miller continued his learning curve and feels that knowledge gained will help him when the series visits a few of the other courses.

“Mid-Ohio went well, we were able to learn a lot with the car, and I think what we learned will directly translate to WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca and Portland,” said Jack William Miller.

“While we might not have been on the podium, I am still getting to live my dream out of being a racecar driver and that wouldn’t be possible without all of the support from Patterson Dental and HomeLink, on to Iowa Speedway,” said Miller.

No time off for the ABEL Motorsports squad as they will turn the road-course cars over to oval cars to be ready for Iowa Speedway on July 11-12. Friday July 11th gets things started with both practice and qualifying streaming on Fox Sports 2. The green flag flies on Saturday July 12th at 1:30pm ET.
