Jordan Missig makes the jump to full-time INDY NXT by Firestone Competition with ABEL Motorsports after contesting five races in 2024
Missig was crowned the 2024 Radical Cup North America Champion which lead him to Abu Dahbi for the Radical Cup World Finals at Yas Marina finishing 3rd in the World Championship.
Speedway, Ind. (December 14, 2024) – 2024 Radical Cup North America Champion, Jordan Missig, makes the jump to full-time INDY NXT by Firestone competition in 2025 with ABEL Motorsports driving the No. 48. Missig made his INDY NXT debut in 2024, contesting five races scoring his first series top ten on the oval at World Wide Technology Raceway.
For Missig the opportunity to make the jump to the INDY NXT championship is the realization of a lot of hard work and perseverance, and the realization that the NTT INDYCAR SERIES is that much closer.
“I’m so excited to be joining ABEL Motorsports and the INDY NXT by Firestone field for 2025,” said Jordan Missig. “This is the culmination of years of work, and now everything that I have learned and developed is going to be put to the test against some of the toughest competition in motorsports.”
With seat time being so valuable, Missig decided in 2024 to run a handful of races with ABEL Motorsports to get more acclimated to the series ahead of his full-time debut in 2025. That seat time will give Jordan the opportunity to just focus on driving, instead of having to split his attention with a new car and a new team on top of his driving duties.
“It was great to get my feet wet in 2024 and get to experience an INDY NXT race weekend instead of coming into 2025 completely new. I got to know the ABEL Motorsports team pretty well and am already feeling really comfortable there, but 2025 will provide us that chance to just deepen our chemistry and communication together which will hopefully translate to speed.”
“I would like to thank Graham Rahal Performance for our 2024 championship and preparing me for a full 2025 INDY NXT campaign with ABEL Motorsports. I’m also very excited to have Racing 4 Mental Health on board as we continue to raise awareness for mental health issues across all forms of racing,” said Missig.
Team Manager, John Brunner, took notice of Jordan Missig when Missig made the move to the open-wheel ranks of both FR America and USF Pro 2000. Brunner was impressed with not only his speed and race craft, but also the person he is away from the track.
“We’re thrilled to sign Jordan for the 2025 INDY NXT season,” said Brunner. “Jordan brings a well-rounded skill set to the table, and that paired with his starts in 2024 should set him up well as we get the season underway.”
A lot more goes into racing than just the cars on track, so as Brunner looked to the talent that was out there and who would be the right fit for ABEL Motorsports Missig’s name continually came into the conversation.
“We looked at a good number of drivers for 2025 and through that Jordan’s name continued to be brought up as someone that we thought would not only do well with us, but equally as important someone that represents the ABEL brand the right way; which Jordan certainly does.”
Jordan Missig and ABEL Motorsports kick off the 2025 INDY NXT by Firestone season on March 2nd for the annual trip to the Downtown St. Petersburg Florida streets.
