Jack William Miller completes first outing with new ABEL Motorsports with Miller Vinatieri Motorsports team
Series sophomore Callum Hedge leads the way on the time sheets over the two-day test
Speedway, Ind. (February 13, 2025) – It was a productive two days at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca for ABEL Motorsports, despite Mother Nature’s best efforts to spoil the test. Over the course of the two days, ABEL Motorsports was able to complete a combined 384 laps of testing.
As Jack William Miller begins his new journey with ABEL Motorsports, the trip out West was the first taste of working with the ABEL crew and his new teammates.

“It was honestly a blast getting to turn my first few laps with my new team, ABEL Motorsports with Miller Vinatieri Motorsports, I already feel right at home,” said Jack William Miller.
While the Dallara IL-15 chassis is nothing new to Miller, the operations and procedures that ABEL Motorsports has is something new that Miller had to get used to all while focusing on the upcoming 2025 season.

“At the end of the day it’s still an INDY NXT car, so I was comfortable, but it did take some time getting used to just different procedures that ABEL has. Other than that, it was great to start to get up to speed with my new engineer and crew, and just knock out some items on our test list. I really think this is going to be an amazing year for me, and I just can’t wait to get the season going,” exclaimed Miller.
Topping the charts for the test, 21-year-old Callum Hedge, was pleased with the progress that he and his No. 17 crew were able to achieve in the abbreviated testing sessions.

“I think the test overall went really well for us on the 17 car, I feel like each outing I have with ABEL Motorsports we just continue to get better which is great to see,” said Callum Hedge.
For Hedge the continued learning and building on the last runs has been something that he and his engineer believe will be beneficial for them as they get into the meat of the season.

“We put a lot of work in over the winter to make sure I as a driver, and we as a team were capitalizing on everything we have available to us, and these tests are just the start. We went to Sebring and learned a lot and then carried that over to testing at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, and intend on carrying that into St. Petersburg. If we can just keep the momentum rolling, and do what we know how to do, I think we will have a tremendous season,” exclaimed Hedge.
2024 Radical Cup Champion, Jordan Missig, made his first laps around the infamous WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca in an INDY NXT car on Wednesday immediately feeling at home on the 2.2-mile road course.

“It was really cool to make my first laps around here in an INDY NXT car,” said Jordan Missig.
“I have driven here before in other types of cars, but never in an INDY NXT car, so the biggest adjustment for me was just getting used to the sense of speed. Everything is happening a lot quicker in these cars, so I had to get accustomed to that but then it was business as usual.”
As Missig worked through the two-days in California he was pleased with the progress both he and ABEL Motorsports had made to this point, and is confident that he has everything he needs heading into round one.

“Laguna had some challenges for us, especially when you consider the rain but I think overall as a unit on the 48 car, we are ready for St. Pete. We will all be back on a level playing field not knowing what we have, so my goal is to get us as good a start to the season as possible, and just setting the tone for the rest of the year,” exclaimed Missig.
INDY NXT by Firestone sophomore, Myles Rowe, was excited for two-days getting to hone in a setup at the WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca that he thinks will pay dividends when they return in July.

“Laguna threw a few different variables at us, from a major rain storm to personnel being under the weather, but overall I was really pleased with what we were able to accomplish,” said Rowe.
With a variety of different setup options and testing items to run through, Rowe wasted no time getting to work on their test lists.

“We had an extensive list of test items we wanted to get through, and I think we found quite a few things that we will use here (WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca) and honestly at a lot of the tracks we visit. I feel as confident as ever that we are ready for St. Petersburg and the season, just time to go out and execute,” exclaimed Myles Rowe.
The 2025 INDY NXT by Firestone season gets underway on Friday February 28th with the first official practice session of the season. Practice two and qualifying will follow on Saturday March 1st, with the INDY NXT Grand Prix of St. Petersburg airing live on Sunday March 2nd on Fox Sports 1 at 10:00am ET.
