FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Speedway, Ind. (October 13, 2022) – Jack William Miller and Nicky Hays are joining Abel Motorsports for their first look at Indy Lights action on October 21st at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the annual Chris Griffis test.
Miller will be making his first appearance behind the wheel of a Dallara IL-15 after spending the past 2 seasons competing in the Indy Pro 2000 category with his family operated team. The past season in Indy Pro 2000 proved successful for Miller, who was able to capture 2 poles and 2 podium finishes.
“I’m super excited to have the opportunity to test an Indy Lights car at my favorite place in the world, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. I can’t thank Patterson Dental enough for this opportunity, and I’m looking forward to beginning my relationship with Abel Motorsports,” said Jack William Miller.
Moving up from the first rung on Road to Indy, the USF2000 series, is Nicky Hays who will be getting his first look at the final step on the ladder. Hays competed in his rookie season with Cape Motorsports scoring back-to-back podium finishes in the final 2 races of the year at the Portland International Raceway.
“I’m very excited to be joining Abel Motorsports for the Chris Griffis test and the opportunity to get my frist taste of an Indy Lights car. Building off of a strong finish to the USF2000 season, the goal is to be full-time on the Indy Lights grid in 2023, and this is the first step in that process. I have to give a big thank you to everyone at Abel Motorsports as well as my partners (Touchstone Helicopters, Global Racing Group, Molecule Sports, Sparco USA) for helping to get this done,” said Nicky Hays.
The annual Chris Griffis Indy Lights test gets underway on October 21st with session 1 beginning at 9:00am and running through 12:00pm ET.
