INDY NXT Testing Rolls On at Mid-Ohio

Speedway, Ind. (April 22, 2025) – ABEL Motorsports is back in action on Tuesday April 22 with a one-day series test at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington Ohio.

Currently sitting sixth in the championship standings, Jordan Missig, returns to the site of his USF Pro 2000 debut & his first go in an INDY NXT machine, excited to see what he and the ABEL Motorsports team can accomplish.

“I’m quite interested to see how Mid-Ohio will shape up for me and the 48 guys during the test,” said Jordan Missig.

A test session at Mid-Ohio in 2024 was the first taste of the Dallara IL-15 for Missig, so the Joliet Illinois native is excited to see where he is now with more experience in the car.

“Mid-Ohio was my first USF Pro 2000 race weekend and the first time for me in the INDY NXT car last year, so I’m excited to see the difference a year makes now that I have more time and experience in the car,” exclaimed Missig.

While Callum Hedge might not have the same amount of track time at Mid-Ohio as some of the other drivers, his results in 2024 showed that the New Zealander knows how to find pace around the 2.2-mile road course.

“I’m stoked to get back out on track for the test at Mid-Ohio. We had a great race here last year, coming away with a fourth-place finish,” said Hedge.

As testing and the 2025 season have come on, Hedge has been happy with what he and the engineers at ABEL Motorsports have been able to find, and see the test day as another opportunity to sharpen their tools.

“Through testing and round 1 at St. Petersburg, we have been working and gaining with our car setups, and I expect a lot more of the same with this test. I feel like we can learn some things that we can take back with us, to hopefully improve upon that fourth-place finish here in 2024,” said the 21-year-old.

Jack William Miller is excited to get to Mid-Ohio, a track he feels very comfortable at after years of junior open-wheel experience.

“Mid-Ohio has always been a great track for me, and we had a strong weekend here in 2024 so I’m looking forward to just trying to build off of that pace,”.

That pace that Miller found in 2024 netted him a twelfth place finish, but the Indianapolis native feels that there is still time on the table for him and his engineer to find.

“We showed decently strong pace here in 2024 so I think getting an entire day and having my teammates data to go over, will help me find those last little bits to move us further forward,” exclaimed Miller.

Georgia native Myles Rowe is keen to continue on the learning curve he and his lead engineer have keyed in on, and see what they can find for the race here in July.

“I can’t wait to get back to Mid-Ohio, it’s such an iconic track and has a special rhythm to it that I think everyone in the INDYCAR paddock loves, and always enjoys coming back,” said Rowe.

With a decent amount of time between rounds one and two of the INDY NXT Championship, Rowe is looking forward to getting into the full swing of the season.

“It has been a long break between races, so I am really looking forward to getting into my racing rhythm and being able to go from race to race. I’m ready to get this championship in full swing, and see where we can shake out,” exclaimed Rowe.

The INDY NXT by Firestone series test at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course takes place on Tuesday April 22nd with the green flag set to fly at 8:00am ET. Keep up with all things ABEL Motorsports by following the team on social media, @abelmotorsports, or by visiting abelmotorsports.com
