About Abel Motorsports

Aside from the fact that Abel motorsports are on a mission to become one of the best teams in motorsports, their team owner and his racing expertise add a bit more fuel. Bill Abel has been racing on some track most of his life. As a youngster, his family owned and operated Castle Point Motor Sports Park in New Castle, Ky, in the 1970s. The world-class motocross facility hosted national and international events attended by the world’s best racers of that era. It was here that Bill started racing motocross which developed into a championship-winning, multi-decades-long career ending with an accident in 1994. Fast forward several years, and that competitive spirit rose again, this time in the form of competitive vintage sportscar racing, culminating with a coveted gold helmet winning the national championship in 2014.

As committed as Bill was to his racing passion, he started in the field of the family construction business and eventually became CEO. Based in Louisville, Ky, his time became devoted to building and leading that team as the company grew. For years, growing not only the construction family but his personal family was also growing up. As the youngest of three children, his son Jacob also started showing an interest in going fast. Bill used the same fundamental steps he used to build the construction team by starting with a good strong foundation to assemble Abel Motorsports. In construction, the schedules and milestones are essential to the team, same for a race team, keep everybody safe and on schedule and celebrate the milestones and victories. 

Today, Abel Motorsports is climbing to the top under Bill’s leadership and utilizing his expertise and passion. Nothing is more vital than “Family” in building construction or race teams.
