Speedway, Ind. (October 21, 2024) – ABEL Motorsports with Force Indy driver, Myles Rowe, tops the charts at the INDY NXT by Firestone Chris Griffis Memorial Test at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Rowe set a time of 01:15.1848 which was two tenths of a second quicker than second place.

For Rowe the first outing in the ABEL Motorsports with Force Indy car couldn’t have gone better as the series sophomore began his work for 2025.

“I’m pretty happy with things so far, the car is really good” said Rowe. “I’m loving ABEL Motorsports, in terms of just switching teams and understanding how the car is working and where we need to go, I think this was a great first step and first opportunity working together.”

Drivers and teams are always working to be at the sharp end of the field, so to be able to have the fastest lap of the day really bodes well for Rowe’s confidence heading into the start of the season in March.

“It was great to show speed together our first time out, and I think that just goes to show the level of preparation that everyone is putting into this program. It’s so important to get that momentum together as a team going, and this was a great first step towards that as we continue on our journey through 2025.”

Also jumping in an ABEL Motorsports machine for the first time, New Zealand’s Callum Hedge impressed during his day behind the wheel of the No. 17 winding up fourth on the timing charts for the day.

“I would say the day overall was quite good, I’m pretty happy with how we ended up,” said Callum Hedge.

For Hedge, 2024 was a year filled with learning and gaining knowledge in the Dallara IL-15. Taking those lessons with him to ABEL for the test lead to a solid outcome for the 20-year-old driver.

“Taking the learning from last year, and working with the engineers here at ABEL and just learning a different philosophy while also still applying what I learned last season and the mistakes I made, I think was a huge help.” “It was good to learn and go out, the car was really really good but unfortunately our last run with new tires got interrupted by a red flag, but overall incredibly happy with how the day went.”

Back with his No. 22 ABEL Motorsports crew for the first time since his career best finish of second at Nashville Superspeedway, Yuven Sundaramoorthy was excited to get work underway for his sophomore season.

“It was definitely a productive day for us with the Optima Batteries / Clarios car,” said Sundaramoorthy. “We were able to run through a bunch of different items on our test list which will be really important for us when we start off 2025.”

As 2024 wraps up and Sundaramoorthy looks ahead to year two in INDY NXT by Firestone competition, he knows how important these off-season tests can be for next season.

“We were hoping that the pace would be a little bit better, but testing is all about finding out what works and what doesn’t work, all that matters is 2025,” exclaimed Sundaramoorthy.

After an impressive INDY NXT oval debut where he finished ninth, Jordan Missig was back in the mix with ABEL Motorsport as he looks to what 2025 holds.

“It was great to be back with everyone at ABEL Motorsports and get to be back in the INDY NXT series,” said Missig. “I have been with a lot of top-notch teams and ABEL is right up there, it’s really a fun group to be a part of.”

Completing 84 laps on the day, Missig was tied for the second most laps on the day as he got back in to the No. 51.

“It’s not often that you can get that many laps in an INDY NXT car, so to be able to just keep putting laps under my belt was great. From a physical standpoint 84 laps is difficult, but I feel great knowing that I have the stamina to do this at a high level and I’m just really looking forward to the next time I can get in the car.”

Next on the calendar for ABEL Motorsports is a series test on October 28 at the Barber Motorsports Park in Leeds Alabama. The first race of the 2025 INDY NXT by Firestone Championship is on March 2nd on the Downtown Streets of St. Petersburg Florida.
