The 2026 INDY NXT by Firestone season kicks off with the first official test at the Sebring International Raceway in Sebring Florida. Abel Motorsports returns to action with their four-car lineup.
Returning to the Abel family in his familiar No. 48 machine, Jordan Missig has his sights set high for the two days in Florida.
“I’m looking forward to this test at Sebring. It’s always a fun time to come here because it normally means we are getting close to the beginning of a new season,” said Missig.
“Mainly this test is great preparation for the first race at St. Pete. We don’t normally get to test on street circuits, so Sebring is the closest comparison we have to the bumps and rough surface of the St. Pete streets.”
For Colin Kaminsky, the return to Sebring International Raceway marks the return to full-time INDY NXT competition for the first time since 2023.
“I’m really excited to get back into the racecar. It was nice to have two days at the end of last year for a refresher and not its time to get to work,” said Kaminsky.
“Sebring is always a great place to start the year. Not only does it prep us for the first couple of races of the season as it replicates street course conditions effectively, it also is a very physical track that helps shake off the rust from the offseason,”
After a strong campaign in 2025 that included his first two INDY NXT victories of his career, Myles Rowe is ready to kick off 2026 and the INDY NXT season.
“We had an incredibly strong season last year, and staying with Abel for 2026 a lot remains the same, so Sebring really kicks off our first bit of work together as a unit. We don’t have to learn each other and how we communicate, we can just dive right in where left off in 2025,” said Myles Rowe.
“I love driving the street courses, and with how bumpy Sebring is it closely resembles a street course so I’m really looking forward to getting out there and just working through our testing program and dialing in the setup for round one at St. Pete.”
The only rookie on the Abel squad this year, Max Garcia, heads into Sebring ready to get his INDY NXT debut season underway.
“I’m really just looking forward to getting back to work with the Abel Motorsports boys. It was a great break for the holidays, but I really just can’t wait to get back in the car and get 2026 underway,” said Garcia.
“I love coming to Sebring, its where I had my first single seater race so it holds significance to me. It’s also the closest track we have to replicate street courses, so it will be important for us to really dial in a package here so we can roll off ready to go at St. Pete.”
