FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Speedway, Ind. (April 26, 2022) – Abel Motorsports along with drivers Jacob Abel and Antonio Serravalle are headed south this weekend for round 2 of the 2022 Indy Lights Presented by Cooper Tires Championship at Barber Motorsports Park.
After the opening round on the Streets of St. Petersburg, Abel Motorsports and Jacob Abel had the opportunity for some more learning and testing in preparation for Barber Motorsports Park. The team was able to spend a full day at Barber Motorsports Park and feels that they have established a solid setup ahead of the race weekend.
“The Barber weekend has been highly anticipated as we’ve had such a long break leading up to this. Coming off our result at St. Petersburg where we didn’t show our true potential. As a team, we are eager to prove ourselves in Alabama this weekend. The goal remains the same, which is to learn and gain as much knowledge as possible, but I think we should have something good for this weekend,” said Jacob Abel
Antonio Serravalle is once again joining the Abel Motorsports team driving car No. 11. Serravalle is making his return to Barber Motorsports Park in an Indy Lights car, after competing in both races in 2021. Serravalle will be looking to build on his experience and the teams notes from testing to fight for a podium finish.
“I’m excited to continue with Abel Motorsports and be back this weekend at Barber. We had a solid start to the season at St. Pete after coming into the weekend with no testing. I feel like I got along very well with the team and my teammate, and I can’t wait to see what we’re able to do this weekend,” said Antonio Serravalle
The Indy Lights Grand Prix of Alabama gets started on Friday April 29th with practice 1, followed by practice 2 and qualifying on Saturday.
