FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Speedway, Ind. (August 4, 2022) – Abel Motorsports is gearing up for round 10 of the 2022 Indy Lights Presented by Cooper Tires championship on the Streets of Nashville for the Indy Lights Music City Grand Prix.
Abel enters the weekend 8th in the championship standings, after a strong 6th place performance during his Indy Lights oval debut at Iowa Speedway. Abel is no stranger to the Streets of Nashville as last year the 21-year-old was racing a Stadium SUPER truck around the circuit. This will be however, Abel’s first time around the circuit in an open-wheel car, a challenge he is excited for.
“I’m excited to head back to Nashville and continue building on our progress we have made. Racing here last year in a Stadium SUPER truck was an absolute blast, but I can’t wait to see what we can do this year in an Indy Lights car. The street-circuits we race at are some of my favorite events because of how challenging they are, and how you really have to work to figure out your line. I will have a lot of family and friends here this weekend with the race being so close to Louisville and that always adds another layer of excitement,” said Abel.
The Indy Lights Music City Grand Prix gets started on Friday August 5th with practice, followed by practice 2 and qualifying on Saturday August 6th. The 35-lap race will go green on Sunday August 6th at 1:00pm Et. Keep up with the action all weekend long by following @abelmotorsports on social media.
