Newton, IA (July 22, 2022) – Jacob Abel will be making his Indy Lights Presented by Cooper Tires oval debut this weekend at the Iowa Speedway for round 9 of the 2022 Indy Lights championship. Abel heads into the weekend sitting 10th in the championship standings.
After a disappointing end to the weekend at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, Abel Motorsports is looking forward to rebounding strong in Iowa.
“At Mid-Ohio we had the pace all weekend, but unfortunately the weekend didn’t end up how we had hoped. I’m excited to get to Iowa and get to experience the Indy Lights action on an oval. We tested here a while ago and had pretty good pace, so heading into the race weekend I’m excited to see what the team and I can accomplish,” said Jacob Abel.
The Indy Lights action from Iowa Speedway gets underway on Friday July 22nd with practice, followed by qualifying on Saturday July 23rd. Round 9 of the 2022 Indy Lights Presented by Cooper Tires Championship goes green on Saturday July 23rd at 11:20am CT.
