Lexington, OH (June 30, 2022) – Abel Motorsports is entering the second half of the 2022 Indy Lights Presented by Cooper Tires, this weekend at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. Jacob Abel is returning to the track that saw him capture his second podium finish of the 2021 Indy Pro 2000 season.
After recording his second top-5 finish of the season at Road America, Able returns to Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course hungry to keep the momentum that he and his No. 51 Abel Motorsports team have behind them alive this weekend.
“Road America went really well for us. I felt competitive all weekend, and the team gave me a great car that was comfortable to drive but also quick. Heading into Mid-Ohio this weekend with the confidence from Road America, and my love for Mid-Ohio gives us the perfect situation to capitalize. Last year we had our second podium of the season here, and I am confident we can match that this weekend in the Indy Lights car,” said Jacob Abel.
Round 8 of the 2022 Indy Lights Presented by Cooper Tires Championship gets underway at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course on Friday July 1st with practice 1. Saturday July 2nd has the second round of practice followed by the lone qualifying session. The green flag for the Indy Lights race at Mid-Ohio falls on Sunday July 3rd at 10:40am ET and will be streamed live on Peacock.
