Abel Motorsports Makes Maiden Trip to Miami International Autodrome for Testing

Miami, FL (February 22, 2026) – For the first time, Abel Motorsports and the INDY NXT by Firestone Series head to the Miami International Autodrome circuit for two days of testing ahead of the 2026 season start at the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg.

Miami native and INDY NXT rookie, Max Garcia, is looking forward to having the comforts of home with him at a testing event.

“I’m really excited to be able to drive an INDY NXT by Firestone car and get to sleep in my own bed, no hotels needed for this trip,” joked Garcia.

“This will be my first time driving on the Miami Autodrome, so just looing forward to experiencing the track and dialing everything in before St. Petersburg.”

Colin Kaminsky is the sole Abel Motorsports driver with some prior experience around the Miami circuit, having competed here in 2024, and is leaning on that experience for the two days of testing.

“It’s going to be great hitting the track in Miami for our last two days of testing before we roll into St. Pete. I drove the F1 layout of this track back in 2024 during the Porsche support series races, and it was a tricky challenge in a heavy sportscar so I’m interested to compare that to the high downforce INDY NXT by Firestone car. It should be a useful two-day test for the number 57 crew to hit our stride just before we take to the track in St. Pete five days later,” said Kaminsky.

After scoring his first wins in the INDY NXT series in 2025, Myles Rowe is excited to turn all of his focus and attention to the number 99 Abel Motorsports with Force Indy machine and the challenge ahead.

“This will be our last opportunity to really fine tune the car before we get right into the action of the INDY NXT season, so I’m looking forward to just continuing our progression on the 99 car, and getting everything set for St. Petersburg,” said Rowe.

“We had some success last year together, so the full focus of this year is just continuing to get wins, podiums, and as many points as possible as we chase the 2026 championship.”

With St. Petersburg and round one fully on his mind, Jordan Missig heads to Miami with the goal of crossing the final T’s and dotting the final I’s before getting into the full swing of the 17-race INDY NXT calendar.

“Excited to get to Miami and be able to test on a new circuit for INDY NXT. It will be interesting to see how the test itself pans out but I think we are all looking forward to driving on this track,” said the Joliet Illinois native.

“This will be a great opportunity to get in tune with the car right before the season opener at St. Pete, and to make sure final preparations are put into place to get the 2026 season underway.”

INDY NXT by Firestone will be testing on Sunday February 22nd and again on Monday February 23rd at the Miami Autodrome in Miami Florida. Keep up with all of the action and notes from testing by following, @abelmotorsports on social media, or by visiting www.abelmotorsports.com
