2025 Kicked Off for ABEL Motorsports with Top-Ten’s at the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg

Best career finish in INDY NXT competition to date for Jordan Missig, finishing sixth.

Jack William Miller scores best career starting position in INDY NXT with sixth.

Callum Hedge & Myles Rowe complete first weekend with ABEL Motorsports both scoring top-ten finishes.

Speedway, Ind. (March 5, 2025) – It was a strong start to the 2025 INDY NXT by Firestone season for ABEL Motorsports on the Streets of St. Petersburg Florida, as three of their four cars were able to claim positions within the top-ten. Unfortunately for sophomore Jack William Miller, contact at the end of the day took away his chance for a top-ten finish.

The weekend for the driver of the No. 99, Myles Rowe, was one that championship runs are formed from. Starting with opening practice on Friday afternoon, Rowe knew right away that he had a car to contend with, and that trend continued on with P1 in practice two, and then ultimately qualifying fourth for the 45-lap opening race.

“It’s great to be back doing what we love to do, and to have the pace we showed. We didn’t walk away with any hardware, but we know that we absolutely have the pace in 2025 to be up front competing for wins and podiums,” said the Georgia native.

“We were able to come away with some good points on the championship, and a direction to head in over the next few races so overall a successful opening round for the 99 crew,” exclaimed Rowe.

The only rookie on the ABEL Motorsports squad, Jordan Missig wanted to come away with a clean racecar and a notebook filled with learnings. He accomplished both of those items, all while consistently running in the top-ten.

“For me, this was a weekend where we executed exactly as we needed to and the results all weekend showed it. It really gave me the confidence, and proof that I do have what it takes to compete at this level, and as the season wears on we should be fighting for podiums,” said Jordan Missig.

“This really gets our confidence going that we have a great starting spot for the championship, and can just continually work together to find those results. Last year winning the Radical Cup North America championship showed me that the key to a championship win is consistency and just continuing to work. I think the group I have behind me at ABEL Motorsports is a championship caliber team, and I’m really looking forward to working together the rest of the season,” exclaimed the Joliet Illinois native.

New Zealand’s Callum Hedge didn’t have quite the success he and his No. 17 crew had hoped for, but recognized that they have the speed in the car and driver to be consistently fighting for race wins and pole positions.

“The results weren’t what I had hoped for, but sometimes things just don’t fall your way. Overall we were pretty quick throughout the weekend, but I think we were able to find some things to work on to better maximize our car at the next events,” Exclaimed Hedge.

“Obviously this is the first race weekend back in action, and we have our sights set on the championship, so bringing the car home in a respectable position gives us that platform to build off of. I have to say as well, the fan support all weekend was tremendous. We go testing and that energy is missing, so just great to have them all back at the track with us,” said the 21-year-old.

Indianapolis Indiana’s Jack William Miller had a tremendous weekend going, one that saw him earn his best INDY NXT qualifying position of sixth and running in the top-five for most of the race. Unfortunately with a handful of laps left, Miller made contact with the wall ending his day in 16th.

“The result is obviously not what we had hoped for or worked for, but I am able to walk away from this first weekend with ABEL Motorsports knowing that we had and will continue to have the pace, I just have to keep working with my engineer and learning where I can get better, and then I really think the results will come,” said Jack William Miller.

“From my perspective, this weekend up until the last few laps was awesome. We were quick in every session and even came away with sixth in qualifying, so the base is absolutely there for us, and I think as the season continues on we will only get stronger,” said the 21-year-old.

ABEL Motorsports now has testing ahead of them before round two of the 2025 INDY NXT by Firestone championship on May 4th at the Barber Motorsports Park.
